If the world is consecrated to God through Mary's Immaculate Heart, and hence Joseph, so that all that is good is turned over to the Royal Household, of Christ the King, then all temporal activities will be reconciled with the Eternal/Heavenly in ways never seen before.
Each person's ultimate "vocation" in life is to love God, and to love our brothers and sisters because we love God who created them. Many Saints have written, through the ages, things to the effect that our peace is to do God's will. The riddle of life, however, is to reconcile the vocation/job that we do 'in the world' with this vocation to love.
Many Papal documents over the last several decades have indicated that work should be a means of positive self-expression in the same way that God, through His creative Love, manifests Himself to the world and His creatures. Is it possible that we need to "Go To Joseph" to help us here? As the Patron of Workers, he may be the one who can find a "vocation of love" for everyone, such that it will always be one that:
needs to be done
a person can do
a person wants to do as a labor of love, or, perhaps put another way a true "Opus Dei"
It would thus seem that Joseph is the distributor of the work, as Mary, as the Mother of Mercy, is the distributor of the loving graces to do the work
Of course part of the beauty of all this is that those with even the smallest of gifts will find a place where they can be accepted for their labor of love. No longer would Jesus need to say something like, "inasmuch as you rejected the least of these gifts from the least of my brethren, you rejected it from me (cf Matthew 25:40; Mark 12:42-44).
At the same time, people with the least of gifts will have the love that casts out fear (cf 1 John 4:18) to not be ashamed of either who they are, or their gifts, and be encouraged to give an authentic gift of self (cf Matthew 25:14-30; allegory of "The Little Drummer Boy" etc). Or, put another way, the "No Vacancy" signs in the Bethlehem motels will be permanently switched off.
Of course, with Joseph's merciful and just prudence and wisdom to draw from, who needs a temporal "Strong Man" as a so-called "Great Monarch?" We will have a much larger number of just, merciful, and prudent laws; just, merciful, and prudent rulers; just, merciful, and prudent administrators (ie, "bureaucrats"), and, finally but certainly not least, just, merciful, and prudent citizens.
We will nevertheless still have our problems. For all we know, things in many ways may be even worse than ever. Nevertheless, should evil increase, we will have increased grace to deal with it in a manner in which Justice and Mercy meet in a way never seen before in the history of the world.
With wisdom provided through the intercession of our "deputy father" in Heaven, we will better know how to discern danger and un-Truth, so as to be led not into temptation, but rather delivered from evil.
Joseph may even "feed" us (cf Luke 12:42-44) in a famine for the hearing of the Word of God (cf Amos 8:11-12) so that, even though the visible Church may be destroyed and the altars and tabernacles desolated of his Son's Presence (cf Daniel 9:27), through his intercession we will be protected from spiritual (if not literal) starvation, so we can continue to be the people of salt and light amidst the darkness (cf Matthew 5:13-16; Isaiah 58:6-14).
With the help of Mary, Joseph's wife who is also Spouse of the Holy Spirit, the Heavenly Household will intercede in asking our Heavenly Father to send forth the Spirit that "renews the face of the earth" (cf Psalm 104:30). In cooperating with this renewal, we will better know and accomplish the Father's will, and thus receive our daily bread through this work (cf John 4:34) of extending Mercy to others, and receive special Graces and Mercies through the intercession of the Mother of Mercy and the deputy (the "tender Father" of the Midrash) to the Father of Tender Mercies (cf Psalm 145:8-9; 2 Corinthians 1:3). Hopefully, with such help, His will truly be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
